Last year, I read that Fraiche Yogurt was on the Top 10 list of Bay Area yogurt places… So, we headed over to their little Palo Alto store on Emerson… and indeed, it is very good… wonderful ‘fresh’ yogurt flavors AND amazingly wonderful and different toppings!
2012′s Chinook Book offered a “Buy One, Get one 50% Off” coupon… Yay!
We were at University Art (more on that in a later post!! Craftin’!) on Hamilton and I noticed that Fraiche had a big new store on the corner of Hamilton, nearby Reposado.
So excited to see the new digs… beautiful new store… and use our coupon!
I ordered a Natural and Pomegranate yogurt with Pomegranate seeds and Mochi pieces!
Dano ordered a Natural and Chocolate swirl with Figs and Ollieberry puree!
Organic Frozen Yogurt with fun, fresh, funky toppings… Super Great and delicious!
Dano said “Oh, I like figs on this!”
OK… So I fibbed… I was the one whom ’ordered’ Dano’s yogurt… hee hee!! Good thing he liked it!
As I write this post I’m savoring a tall, chilly glass of Devil’s Canyon Root Beer!
I added this post to the Cookin’ section because it’s ‘food’-based… and one can certainly make a pretty righteous Root Beer Float with this stuff!
I received a Sigona’s coupon in the local “Great Values Pack” for a ‘Free fill of root beer with the purchase of a reusable growler’!
Sigona’s has the best Sundried Tomatoes, on their olive bar, that you will ever sink your teeth into! Truly!
I was headed over to the RWC store to pick up some local honey and sundried tomatoes… why not take them up on this Root Beer offer while I was at it!? Soooo glad I did!
Devil’s Canyon Brewing is locally located in Belmont. They craft more than just the Root Beer, but I’m a root beer snob, so that’s what I was after. I got my 64oz. Growler filled straight from the tap with draught Root Beer made with real ingredients.
I was so excited for Dano to get home to try it out! We had a glass with dinner… So Good!
I’m so happy to know that we, not only, get to support a local business, but we also get to minimize our ‘waste’ by using a refillable glass growler for our root beer needs.
Plus, I love the fact that we actually have a Growler of (root) Beer… having a cool looking bottle like this is just way awesome!
As well, Sigona’s will give you a ‘Frequent Buyer Card’… buy/fill 10 and get the 11th Free!! OK, I’m game!
BACON Bacon!! I was a lucky girl on Wednesday… I got my Valentine’s Boutique early! With a Bacon Boutique of 5 crispy pieces of glorious bacon for Lunch! Hee hee!
I know… not a ‘good for you lunch’… but it was, indeed, GOOD, I’m telling you!
We headed out to Redwood Shores in the search of the elusive Naked Chorizo Filipino Food Truck… spent 5mins driving around looking for it… Finally we asked someone where ‘the food truck’ is… when we got to the point, there WAS a food truck but it was not the one Dano was so hoping for
Nevertheless, as a bacon loving wifey (also paying for lunch that day), I pulled rank… and he had pulled pork… hee hee!!
We had a wonderfully bacony lunch!

Dano = Triple B Tacos (Trio of Bacon and other pork meat, Belly & Butte)
Shared = Fries (YUM!)
No Veg, oops!
But No Soda either, just gallons of Water! HA!

Delicious, Unusually flavored Ice Cream, made from scratch, in house, with local ingredients! COOL!
We decided to end our first visit to Santa Cruz with a bit of ice cream from Penny Ice Creamery… so glad we did!
With flavors like Orange Star Anise, Creme Fraiche, Blackpepper Quince, and Honey Yogurt Walnut Jam… it’s difficult to stop yourself at just two flavors. When I have ice cream, I like to small bowl with 2 flavors that combine well together… thereby getting 3 different flavors!
In this case, I ordered Creme Fraiche and Orange Star Anise… Gourmet Orange Creamsicle!!
Dano ordered Chocolate Sorbet… what an Intense Flavor!!
On the menu they list where the local ingredients are from! I think the menu changes routinely!
The price is a bit steep… but for that rare treat… it’s indeed doable!
